This October, your tea gives back

For the second year in a row, we're dedicating October to breast cancer research. From October 1–31, 10% of the purchase price of every tea, sampler, and gift box we sell will be donated to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in support of breast cancer research.

September 21 is National Chai Day — a good excuse to look a little closer at a drink most of us have had but few of us have taken apart. What actually goes into a cup of chai? And why does a homemade one taste so different from the syrupy version at a coffee counter?

When you're planning a dinner, a brunch, or an afternoon with friends, the drinks usually come down to wine, coffee, or something sparkling. Tea is worth a place on that list too. It gives everyone at the table something to sip and talk about, and it's a real option for guests who aren't drinking — whether they're skipping alcohol that evening, cutting back on caffeine, or just want something other than another glass of water.
